The Bard Sustainability Council conducts sustainability planning, advises the College on sustainability issues, and collaborates on sustainability events. In addition, the Council helped the College achieve a Gold rating in STARS - the sustainability tracking, assessment and rating system for colleges & universities globally.

What We Do

The Council awards mini grants of up to $2,500 to faculty and staff to develop research projects, classes, pedagogies, or projects on campus (or in the surrounding region) that promote themes of sustainability. Funding is available on a rolling basis annually. Proposals are accepted one to two times per year and must be mapped to the Sustainable Development Goals using this tool. Contact [email protected] for application materials.
