More than 85 colleges and community organizations across the country have joined the Bard Center for Environmental Policy and C2C Fellows Network in leading a national conversation on democracy and climate change with a screening of The Island President—the 2011 documentary that chronicles Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed’s efforts to confront climate change and rising sea levels, which threaten to submerge the low-lying island nation. The film will be screened on Wednesday, April 17.

Elyse Foladare '12 got involved in AmeriCorps while studying at Bard. These days she's working with the organization as a watershed ambassador, taking care of the habitat in her native New Jersey.

Bard is once again participating in the national RecycleMania college competition. Last year we won in the Food Service Organics category. In the first two weeks of this year’s contest, the College had recycled 11,499 pounds of paper, cardboard, and containers and composted more than 27,300 pounds of food scraps.
